For recipients of documents sent through okdoc

Recipient Privacy Notice

When you open or view a document sent to you through okdoc, some information about how you interact with that document is measured. This notice explains what is measured, why, and who it is shared with, in plain language.

What is measured

When you open and view a document, okdoc may measure the following:

  • Document opens (whether and how many times the document was opened)
  • Number of views
  • Total viewing time
  • Time spent on each page
  • Scroll depth (how far through the document you read)
  • Clicks and interactions within the document
  • Device and browser information
  • IP address, collected for audit and security purposes
  • Engagement status derived from the above (for example, whether the document has been read)

Who this is shared with

This information may be shared with the sender of the document, that is, the business or person who sent it to you. The sender uses it to track engagement, follow up with you, maintain an audit trail, and analyze whether the deal is likely to close.

Roles: who controls your data

okdoc acts as the processor: it provides the platform and measures this information on the sender's behalf. The sender of the document acts as the controller: they decide why the document was sent and how the information is used. If you have questions about how your information is used, contact the sender first.

Third-party marketing cookies

Some senders connect third-party advertising tools (such as Meta, TikTok, or Google). These are never loaded when you open a document. They load only if you explicitly accept them in the consent bar shown on the signing page. If you decline, no advertising cookie or script is loaded. The first-party engagement measurement described above runs regardless, because it is part of the document delivery service itself.
